"The giant stands iron staff in hand by Lómagnúpur mountain. He calls to me and he calls to you in a deep and sombre voice." ~ Jon Halgason
Over one million years old, mighty Lómagnúpur stands 767 meters tall at its summit. According to legend, it is the home to the great giant Járngrímur. He is said to have acted as a guardian during the early days of Iceland's settlement, warding off potential invasion from foreign kings.
