Located in a remote region of the western section of the north rim of the Grand Canyon, the Toroweap Overlook sits above a 3000 foot vertical drop above the Colorado River.  Toroweap is a Paiute word that means "dry or barren valley," as true today as it was when the Native Americans named it.  It's at least 60 miles to the nearest small town.
