Distant Thunder
I waited for hours as storms formed and faded off to each side of the Grand Canyon, as well as behind me. Finally, the waiting paid off and a storm formed directly over the canyon. I was rewarded with not only rainfall directly into the canyon, but lightning strikes on either side, simultaneously. Standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon and coming face to face with it’s mind bending dimensions can be an almost spiritual experience, but this was something else, altogether. It was a moment that will remain with me forever.
