Emerging Spirit
In the sacred heart of the rainforest, the spirit bear walks—a living echo of Raven’s gift, when the world was young and light was still being shaped. Cloaked in pale fur, it carries the memory of creation, a symbol of harmony and respect between all beings. To the First Peoples, it is not merely a bear, but a guardian, a teacher, a bridge to the ancestors who still whisper through the cedars and the rivers. In its presence, the land remembers.
As I waited on the edge of a small river, the silence was almost complete, interrupted only by the occasional bird call. I could feel the magic of this place swirling and dancing around me. Lost in this feeling, almost trancelike, a rustling of the brush across the river, no more than perhaps twenty feet away, brought me back to the present moment. Then she emerged from the dark forest into the soft sunlight, the embodiment of the ancient magic that permeates this place. That moment, captured here, was one of the most powerful experiences of my life.
